Entry Requirements

For UG degrees 75-85 % is an average requirement. SAT exams are required for UG courses. Some universities waive the SAT requirements.

PG / Masters Degrees require a First class or a higher class with GRE as an entrance test.


IELTS/TOEFL – English exam which may be waived in certain cases. GMAT is required for MBA courses.


The undergraduate degrees are 4 years and Postgraduate degrees / Masters / MBAs are 2 years.

Student Visas

The Student Visa is an F1 visa. In order to apply for a student visa the most essential document required is an I20 (Acceptance Form). Your UNI Student counselor will help you complete the visa and university application forms.

On-campus accommodation is provided at the Universities. Its guaranteed for all UG students in your first year. However, you must apply before the deadline and meet with all the conditions in order to secure housing. The Universities will also provide you with a private accommodation option if you prefer.

Sandwich Year

Most undergraduate courses have a sandwich year option between the 2nd and 4th years. This year is a placement/ internship where you work in your chosen industry. This could be paid, but sometimes it is unpaid, depending on the company. Either way, you get valuable experience.

Entry Requirements

There are no tough entry requirements for UK education. NO SAT or GRE required. However, the Universities will look at your overall 12th Grade for UG studies and Degree % for PG programmes. 75-80% is required for UG. However, there are some Universities that may look at grades below 70% which can be discussed on case-to-case basis. IELTS is an English exam you must take. It is conducted by the British Council.

NHS – National Health Service

Once you enroll with the university you will also be automatically enrolled with the National Health Service. This is the socialised government medical system in the UK. As an international student, you get free medical treatments, just like citizens.

Tuition Fees

The Average Tuition Fees for 1 year range from 10,000 – 12,500 pounds. However some of the Masters courses may have higher rates in the 15,000 – 19,000 pounds range. MBA courses range from 15,000 pounds to 25,000 pounds. The top ranked UK universities with world renowned MBA courses could have fees in the range of 45,000 pounds.

Living Costs

The cost of living is lower outside the city of London, in the range of 7,500 pounds – 8,500 pounds per year. In London costs are more in the range of 10,500 pounds per year.

Student Visas

The student visa process is very straightforward, as compared to other countries. The application center for student visas is called – VFS (Visa Facilitating Center) which is responsible for accepting and providing advice.

Work Opportunities

The Department for Education and Employment has given permission to international students to work part-time, 20 hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours per week during vacations.

Undergraduate degrees are 4 years and Postgraduate degrees are mostly 1.5 to 2 years.

UG courses are 3 years for most of the Business programmes.

MBA are 1.5 to 2 years.

Graduate Diploma courses are offered in most of the Universities. These bridging programmes for 6 months are offered before the degree starts in order to allow you the flexibility to change your area of study, and get into the swing of getting good grades.

Entry Requirements

The top universities require 75-85 % in 12th Std for undergraduate students. Any average university requires – 65 to 70 %. Masters require 60-65 % in relevant degrees.

IELTS is a compulsory exam required by all students planning to go for Australian studies. Minimum scores required – 6.0/9 for UG and 6.5 / 9 PG students.

MBA – Some MBA programmes require no work experience. However most of the universities will require 3 to 4 years of work experience. And will also require a GMAT score of 600/800. Average GMAT score required is 570-600.

Student Visas

Student visas are granted by the Australian DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship). DIAC will grant you a student visa if your course is registered or is a part of registered course on a full time basis. Once the offer is made, you accept their visa offer by paying the first semester tuition fees, after which you get the COE (confirmation of enrolment), issued by the institution.

You can expect your visa within 4 to 5 working weeks after the visa application is lodged by your UNI Student counselor.

Work Opportunities

On a student visa, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week throughout the semester and during vacations you can work up to 40 hours. Internships and other practical work are available. The international studies office at your university helps you find a job during your study time in New Zealand, if you want. A permit at the end of your degree program allows you to work for 12 months in the country under a special work permit that is based on your student visa.

Ease of Visa Acquisition

The visa acquisition process is simple, unlike many other countries. The country is welcoming to immigration, more so than almost any other country in the world. After you graduate you can work in the country for up to a year. If the job you are working at is related to the degree that you received, you can apply to get permanent residency, which you will most likely be approved within 6 months of your application.
